Institute of Clinical Research (India), the country’s premier Clinical Research Institute, dedicated to promoting ethical research and high-quality clinical research education, students have been placed in leading Multinational and Fortune 500 companies.
Almost 202 companies like Pfizer, Novartis, Sanofi Aventis, Quintiles, MSD, IRL,GSK, Novo Nordisk, J & J Allargan, TCS, ICRI Global Research and other multinational companies recruited 4000 clinical research students from ICRI. The institute has a 92% placement record of 2007-09 batch. More than 30% of the current batch which has just appeared for the exams has also been placed.
According to Dr. S. K. Gupta, Dean & Director General, Institute of Clinical Research (India), “This year again placements have gone well and the students have been placed before the course is complete. The ICRI has always enjoyed special preference of recruiters. It continues to be the Institute of choice for International and Indian recruiters, who keep coming back year after year looking for exceptional talent.”
According to Mr Rajiv Verma, COO, ICRI, “The placement record of the Institute is excellent where students even without any prior work experience receive a job offer before passing out of the Institute. Even in times of recession, our students have enjoyed multiple job offers.”
The ICRI Placement Division takes every possible step to keep itself updated of the industry requirements. The dedicated placement team works towards informing the industry about the teaching methodology and ICRI courses. The ICRI Placement Division offers prospective employers a one-stop destination for their current and future relationships with the Institute. As a result of these efforts, many big organisations have also shown exemplary interest in recruiting students from ICRI.
“India has all the competitive advantages for conducting clinical trials. As the country is increasingly becoming a favored destination for clinical trials, a gap analysis needs to be done to scale up all resources for clinical trials. This scale up is essential for India to cope with the large global clinical trial projects. ICRI aims to nurture and create an environment of learning, and implement international standards in the interests of Clinical Research students. This is to ensure India meets the global expectations as an emerging Clinical Research destination”, said Mr. S.R. Dugal, Chairman, Board of Directors, ICRI.
As an Institute that understands the crucial role of placement in every student’s life, ICRI strives to provide lifelong placement support to students. ICRI boasts of a special Pre-placement Preparation Program designed by the ICRI Placement Division. The program aims to provide valuable career guidance to students and help them with career opportunities in the best of organisations, with improved roles and responsibilities, and world-class remunerations. Writing an effective resume in compliance with the Clinical Research industry, training on how to face interview boards, personality development, communication skills and mock interviews form an integral part of the program. It also grooms the students by enhancing their analytical acumen, problem-solving skills and ability to work as a team.
Since Clinical Research is now a global industry serving global requirements, educational institutions involved with programs in clinical research need to have a curriculum which match the high standard requirements of CRO’s worldwide. ICRI has collaborated with Cranfield University, U.K., – Europe’s academic centre for strategic and applied research. This partnership marked the beginning of ICRI’s endeavour to give a global magnitude to Clinical Research learning in India and reinforce commitment towards academic credentials which has yielded results.
ICRI imparts innovative and intellectually challenging education of the highest academic standards. The teaching methodologies and experienced faculty at ICRI are instrumental in giving the industry Clinical Research professionals who are competent to take up responsible tasks within the industry.
